What is it?

Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is an exchange programme for entrepreneurs, financed by the European Union.

 

The person you host gets a grant, and there is no charge to your company. This offers you the opportunity to share experiences with a new entrepreneur who will collaborate with you in your company. The exchange can last between one and six months.

You want to expand your business or enter other European markets and get in contact with other entrepreneurs?​​

Why Host  a new entrepreneur?

  • Develop international contacts;

  • Work with a serious, motivated new entrepreneur with fresh ideas;

  • Acquire knowledge about other markets;

  • Find innovative solutions to improve your business;

  • Discover potential cooperation opportunities;

  • Expand your business to another country.

The programme in practise:

The programme is run by a network of local contact points, including Chambers of Commerce, incubators and other organisations supporting businesses, present in the different participating countries.

 

After you have completed your online application and been accepted for the programme, the contact point you will have chosen in your country will help you to find a new entrepreneur that matches your requirements.

 

The new entrepreneur will spend time collaborating with you in your company, contributing to its development, while you will be sharing your entrepreneurial experience with them.

 

This will be a personal commitment you cannot delegate to someone else. There is a contact point near you that can help you throughout your application. To find it, go to “Your local contact point” on the programme’s website

To participate:

  • Check out the eligibility criteria and the application process on www.erasmus-entrepreneurs.eu and apply online;

  • Find a suitable new entrepreneur with the help of the local contact points and prepare for the exchange;

  • Welcome the new entrepreneur to your company and benefit from a cross-border entrepreneurial exchange

You can benefit from the programme if:

​

  • ​You are a permanent resident (as defined by the programme) in one of the participating countries;

  • You are the owner-manager of a small or medium sized Enterprise (SME) or a person directly involved in entrepreneurship at board level;

  • You have at least 3 years of experience in running your own company;

  • You are willing to share your knowledge and experience with a new entrepreneur and act as a mentor

Why go on an exchange?

As a would-be or newly established entrepreneur, you can find yourself at crossroads. You need first-hand guidance. An entrepreneurial collaboration with an experienced entrepreneur will help answer your questions and prepare you to run your own company successfully.

You will also:

  • Develop international contacts;

  • Get to know another market and different ways of doing business;

  • Strengthen your sector specific skills;

  • Meet successful business people;

  • Discover potential cooperation opportunities;

  •  Get financial support for your exchange.

The programme in practise:

The programme is run by a network of local contact points, including Chambers of Commerce, incubators and other organisations supporting businesses, present in the different participating countries.

 

After you fill in your online application and get accepted for the programme, the contact point you will have chosen in your country will provide you with support and assistance to f ind your host entrepreneur.

 

You will also receive practical assistance during your stay abroad. For more information about contact points in your country, please visit “Your local contact point” on the programme’s website.

To participate:

  • Prepare - have your CV, motivation statement and business plan ready;

  • Apply online via www.erasmus-entrepreneurs.eu;

  • Find a suitable host with the help of the local contact points and prepare for the exchange;

  • Travel abroad to the host and benefit from a cross-border entrepreneurial exchange

You can benefit from the programme if:​

​

  • You are a “would-be” entrepreneur, firmly planning to start a business OR an entrepreneur having started your own business within the last 3 years. There is no age limit!
     

  • You are a permanent resident (as defined by the programme) in one of the participating countries;
     

  • You have a concrete project or business idea, reflected in a business plan;

  • You can clearly demonstrate your motivation and commitment to engage in a business relationship with an experienced entrepreneur from another participating country;

  • You are prepared to contribute to the development of the host entrepreneur’s business;
     

  • You are prepared to cover the costs of your stay abroad that exceed the EU grant.
